Overview
Trijo was a Swedish cryptocurrency exchange targeting first-time buyers in the Nordics. As the sole designer I owned everything visual and experiential: the trading interface, onboarding flow, marketing site, brand identity, and a nascent design system. It was a formative role that taught me how to prioritise ruthlessly when you're the only designer.
Challenge
Crypto interfaces are notoriously intimidating for newcomers. Trijo's USP was simplicity, but the existing interface had inherited complexity from established exchanges, making it feel more daunting than the product needed to be.
Approach
I simplified the primary trading view to a single action per screen, hiding advanced order types behind a toggle. I redesigned onboarding as a guided funnel with inline verification, reducing the number of screens from 11 to 5. I also built a brand identity: wordmark, colour system, and illustration style that felt trustworthy without being sterile.
